Those who have been tuning in to watch I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! will be aware that there have been a lot of changes from previous years.

The most obvious, and biggest change, is the setting – the celebs are camping out in a castle in Wales, rather than a rainforest in Australia.

Gwrych Castle’s history doesn’t stretch back as far as you may think – it was built between 1812 and 1822 by Lloyd Hesketh Bamford-Hesketh as a memorial to his mother’s ancestors.

But that doesn’t mean the castle in Abergele, north Wales, doesn’t have its fair share of ghosts.

The beautiful castle, based on medieval architecture, is a great place to visit in the daytime.

Standing on 250 acres of gardens and grounds, it offers extensive views over a deer park and the Irish Sea.

But when the night creeps in at Gwrych Castle, visitors have reported ghost encounters and paranormal activity.

Staff claim you might encounter the dark spirit of Countess’s tyrannical husband, the Earl of Dundonald, who is said to still stalk the castle he stole from her after her death.

You can now book a ghost tour of Gwrych castle for 2021 – so you can see for yourself.

A volunteer, called Jenny, said in 2018: “The handrail gave way to nothingness and I felt something propel me up the top three stairs.

“Seconds later, my colleague told me the butler died right there on that same staircase. I hadn’t told her what just happened!”

The Ghosts Hunts tour will run from January 30 2021, but we’d recommend being quick if you want to bag a spot.

Tours run from 8pm, with a 9pm start, and end at 1.30am.

The tours involve walking around the grounds of the castle – so remember to bring appropriate clothing and footwear.

First you’ll learn more about the history of the castle, and familiarise yourself with the setting.

But then the lights will eventually be turned off and you’ll be divided into small groups.

You’ll be using a range of paranormal equipment, including dowsing rods and K2 meters.
