MADISON (WXOW) — Another 46,000 Wisconsin residents received their first shot in the COVID-19 vaccine series in the last 24 hours according to the state’s Department of Health.
As of Saturday, figures show that 1,231,092 people in the state have received at least one dose of the vaccine. That translates to 21.1 percent of state residents according to DHS. 687,640 people, or 11.9 percent of the state’s population, have finished the vaccine series.
In Western Wisconsin to date, 64,645 people have received at least one dose of the vaccine. It equates to 23.5 percent of the total number of people in Western Wisconsin. 36,561, or 13.4 percent, have completed the vaccine series.
The DHS figures show that 28,195 people or 24.8 percent of residents of La Crosse County have had at least one dose of the vaccine. 17,537 people in La Crosse County, or 14.9 percent, completed the vaccine series according to the state.
In other counties, these are the percentages for the population receiving the first dose of a COVID vaccine: Monroe: 19.4 percent, Vernon: 22.8 percent, Trempealeau: 26.4 percent, and Jackson: 22.5 percent.

There were 13 reported deaths on Saturday in Wisconsin due to COVID-19, according to the latest numbers from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.

DHS also reported 60 people were newly hospitalized.
As of Friday afternoon, 234 COVID-19 patients were being treated in Wisconsin hospitals. It is a decrease of 25 from the day before.
Of those, 55 people, or twelve fewer than yesterday, are in the ICU according to the Wisconsin Hospital Association.
There have been 462 positive COVID-19 tests since yesterday in Wisconsin and 4,550 negative results.

Of all positive cases reported since the pandemic began, 556,369, or 97.7 percent, are considered recovered.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services said that 13 people are hospitalized in the Western Region of the state, which is comprised of Buffalo, Trempealeau, Jackson, La Crosse, Monroe, Vernon, and Crawford counties. That’s an increase of one from the previous day. None of the patients are currently in intensive care.
DHS added six new cases to the list for La Crosse County. Here are the age demographics of those cases:
