Previously, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was first off the block on Thursday as it announced 11 candidates for Delhi assembly elections slated for early next year.
The first list included six turncoats—three from BJP and three from Congress—who recently joined the party.
Three new entrants from BJP who have found a place in the first list include Brahma Singh Tanwar from Chhatarpur, Anil Jha from Kirari and BB Tyagi from Laxmi Nagar. Deepak Singhla will contest from Vishwas Nagar, Sarita Singh from Rohtas Nagar and Ram Singh Netaji in Badarpur.
Zubair Chaudhary, son of former Congress leader Mateen Ahmed, will be AAP’s candidate from Seelampur and former Congressman Veer Singh Dhingan will contest in from Seemapuri. Gaurav Sharma will contest in Ghonda and Manoj Tyagi has been picked as a candidate from Karawal Nagar. Somesh Shaukeen will be AAP’s candidate from Matiala.
In accommodating turncoats, AAP has dropped three MLAs including Kirari MLA Rituraj Jha, Seelampur legislator Abdul Rahman and Matiala MLA Gulab Singh Yadav.(more to come)
