ADELE’s heartbreak has helped score her hits in the past – but her split from husband Simon Konecki is off limits.
The Someone Like You warbler has reached a deal with ex Simon not to write tracks about him as a mark of “respect”.
It comes as the couple agreed a divorce settlement this month, two years after going their separate ways.
It will see Adele’s £140m fortune carved up with Eton-educated Simon once it is signed off by a judge.
A source close to the star said: “Heartbreak has helped Adele shift records over the years but this split is quite different.
“They’re both aware their son Angelo should be protected and that’s why Adele has agreed not to sing about their relationship.
“Her new album will have a different sound anyway, so it hasn’t bothered her too much that Simon quietly expected her to keep their relationship out of her music.”
The source added: “It’s a show of respect.”
After her success with debut album 19, Adele revealed the ex-boyfriend she had written about asked her for royalties.
She said at the time: “He really thought he’d had some input into the creative process by being a p****. I’ll give him this credit — he made me an adult.”
We’re guessing he never received a cheque then . . .
Du you need a bigger pad?
DUA Lipa and boyfriend Anwar Hadid are spotted house hunting in Los Angeles – viewing a £2.1million pad in Studio City this week.
Dua looked casual in a baggy shirt and hugged her puppy close to her chest.
Looks like this place would be perfect for the three of them.
Barlow plans big bands TV reunion
GARY Barlow is set to front a brand new ITV prime-time show reuniting bands from the Eighties, Nineties and Noughties.
The Take That singer is hoping to bring together the likes of S Club 7 for the programme, which is being planned by the team behind ITV2’s The Big Reunion.
It will see iconic groups come together to re-record one of their hits and perform a one-off gig at The Royal Albert Hall slated for later this year.
S Club 7 last toured together in 2015 with all seven members reuniting for their Bring It All Back 2015 shows
A source close to the show told us: “The show is in the planning stages but there is a lot of excitement from Gary’s side of things and the production company are buzzing about it.
“Lots of these bands haven’t been able to tour or record music, so an opportunity to get together for an ITV prime-time show is a very attractive proposition.”
Gary has plenty of experience with changing line-ups and hitting the road for tours – Take That, now down to a three-piece, sold out an arena tour in 2019.
The Big Reunion was a break-out hit for ITV2, with over a million viewers tuning in to see the likes of Atomic Kitten, Liberty X and Blue perform together.
The show source added: “There’s obviously a bit of uncertainty about how the groups will sound in the studio bearing in mind it has been over 20 years since they recorded their original tracks, but that only adds to the drama.”
Earplugs at the ready . . .
‘Chilled’ Peter planning to be nifty at 50
FIFTY is the new 30, according to dishy dad-of-four Peter Andre.
The singer, who turns 48 next month, is looking ahead to his landmark birthday and wants to get fitter than ever.
He said: “My mid-life crisis was in my thirties.
“I wanted all the fast cars, Ferraris and Lamborghinis.
“I remember feeling really down when I turned 40, but now I’m so much more chilled and I love life.
“I’m in a happy place. I want to be in the best shape of my life – 50 is the new 30.”
Peter’s fitness drive comes after catching Covid last month.
He said: “Covid hit me hard, but I’ve finally started to get my sense of smell back.
“The only thing I have now is that I get out of breath when I exercise.
“I’m not as fast as I was. I’m having to do a slow jog, rather than a run.”
Peter, who is currently working with fitness app Nutri Heroes on a new range of workouts, continued: “The hardest bit of working out is the motivation.
“The best time to work out is when you’re tired – have an espresso, wait about 20 minutes, then do it. Then you feel unreal.
“Or first thing in the morning. I like a shot of espresso, a glass of water, a tiny spoon of peanut butter.
“Do your cardio on an empty stomach, then you’re burning from the night before.”
Ta for the tip, Pete.
Mumba’s the word
SAMANTHA Mumba looks sizzling in a new shoot for the cover of Muze magazine.
The singer, set to release her new album this year, is gearing up for a busy 2021 after the release of single Cool last year.
Currently living in Los Angeles, Samantha recently revealed she was keen to represent her native Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest.
She branded the event the “campest, funnest thing ever”.
After Jedward represented Ireland in 2011, Samantha would be a huge improvement.
Molly may get hitched
MAURA Higgins might be loved up with new man Christopher Taylor, but she has given us her tip on which Love Island couple will get wed next.
And she thinks Tommy Fury could pop the question to her BFF Molly-Mae Hague any day now.
She told us: “Tommy and Molly will 100 per cent get married. They’ll have 100 babies, without a doubt.”
Maura has launched a seven-product collection with Bellamianta Luxury Tanning, available at Boots and bellamianta.com.
She said of it: “It’s the best way to keep a year-round tan. I feel better when bronzed.”
Fur-get yoga, Ash
PUSSYCAT Dolls star Ashley Roberts’ experience of taking her pooch Cooper to a puppy yoga session turned out to be far from paw-fect.
Puppy yoga has taken off recently, with reality TV stars including Vicky Pattison joining the craze.
But Ashley’s pet ruined her zen by weeing on the yoga mats during the class.
The former Strictly runner-up said: “In the name of wellness I did try puppy yoga, which was interesting.
“I just wanted to roll around with my pup.
“I thought it was going to be exciting for him but he just weed on everything. So I didn’t feel very namaste.
“It wasn’t zen and it wasn’t how I saw it going.
“I was wiping up wee from the floor.”
With moves like downward dog, it should have been a doddle . . .
Wanted: Peaky Blind-her
FILMING is under way again on Peaky Blinders but bosses are still looking for a female lead.
An advert was posted online this week for someone to join hunk Cillian Murphy on the BBC1 drama.
The sixth season will be its final series, although creator Stephen Knight recently confirmed there would be a film.
He said: “My plan from the beginning was to end Peaky with a movie. That’s what is going to happen.”
A source close to the production told us: “Bosses are looking for the right actress to start straight away.
“She can have any looks, as long as she is sassy and alluring.”
We’d better get our applications in, then.
Haskell’s chat up
CHLOE Madeley’s fella James Haskell is flogging personalised video messages to fans for £120.
The former England rugby ace, who is married to Richard and Judy’s daughter, has put his prices up from £80 a year ago.
This now makes him the most expensive British star on video message site CelebVM.
James is charging more than double what Corrie legend Bill Roache (£45) was asking and three times more than Blue singer Antony Costa (£35).
Nice try, James, but we prefer something that will Costa bit less.
