Jamaican-American bodybuilder Shawn Rhoden tragically passed away on November 6th 2021 at the age of 46.
After the death of his father in 2002, Rhoden reportedly suffered from alcohol addiction, although he managed to recover with the help of a friend which then led him to bodybuilding.
In 2018, he was successful in winning the Mr Olympia title at the age of 43 which made him the oldest bodybuilder to ever win the title.
How did Shawn Rhoden die?
According to The Sun, Shawn Rhoden passed away after suffering a fatal heart attack. Reports also suggested that he had faced prior health concerns.
His death was confirmed by his personal trainer, Chris Aceto. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Aceto wrote:
He was full of kindness, goodness and empathy. Traits we, who knew him well, traits that made us fall in love with him. And made us want to be better. He uplifted everyone. For these and many other reasons, I will miss an athlete who naturally became a genuine and dear friend.
What was Shawn Rhoden’s net worth?
At the time of his death, Shawn Rhoden was estimated to have a net worth between $1-5 million dollars.
It appears that Rhoden accrued his impressive net worth from his professional bodybuilding career as well as sponsorship deals with fitness brands such as Muscle Beach Nutrition.
After winning Mr Olympia in 2018, Shawn took home the grand prize of $400,000 dollars. In 2019, he also created his own documentary called Flexatron: Becoming Shawn Rhoden which is likely to have added to his substantial net worth.

One user wrote: “My favourite bodybuilder, Shawn Rhoden passed away two days ago. I know it’s of no consequence to most here, but it is to me. He was someone I admired.”
While another tweeted: “I don’t want to see any more of my favourite bodybuilders passing away. Rip Shawn Rhoden.”
