HALF-TIME: BRENTFORD 1-1 LIVERPOOL
It’s all square after an action packed first half here at the Brentford Community Stadium.
Both sides had efforts cleared off the line before Ethan Pinnock gave Brentford the lead after a perfectly executed set-piece, sending the home fans fans into raptures.
Their lead lasted a mere moments, however, as Liverpool caught Brentford out of shape as Henderson crossed it in for Jota, who was unmarked and headed past Raya into the bottom corner.
Liverpool though they had taken the lead when Curtis Jones’ effort from the edge of the box rebounded off the post into Diogo Jota’s path, whose shot was kept out by an incredible David Raya reaction save.
It’s been a captivating watch so far and the second half should be even better as Liverpool know three points will extend their lead at the top of the table.
Brentford, meanwhile, will hope to secure their position in the top half of the table and extend their excellent start to the season.
Stay tuned for the second half, which will be kicking off shortly.
