Week 2 NFL picks for Cowboys vs. Chargers
Before you tune in to Sunday’s Cowboys vs. Chargers game, you need to see the NFL picks from SportsLine’s advanced computer model. The model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, is up almost $7,900 for $100 players on top-rated NFL picks since its inception six-plus years ago. It went a sizzling 24-14 on top-rated NFL picks last season, returning more than $800. The model also enters Week 2 of the 2021 season on an incredible 121-79 run on top-rated NFL picks that dates back to the 2017 season.
The model also ranked in the Top 10 on NFLPickWatch four of the past five years on straight-up NFL picks and beat more than 94 percent of CBS Sports Football Pick’em players four times during that span. Anyone who has followed it is way up.
For Cowboys vs. Chargers, the model likes Dallas (+3) to cover the spread in over 50 percent of simulations.
This is technically a home game for the Chargers, but Cowboys’ fans travel and they will have a large presence in SoFi Stadium. Dallas held its training camp in nearby Oxnard, Calif., and it will be more of a neutral-site game than a true road game for the Cowboys.
Los Angeles also hasn’t been favorable to the Chargers since they relocated from San Diego. They are just 11-20-1 against the spread at home since moving to LA in 2017. That .359 winning percentage is the second-worst home cover percentage in the league over that span, whereas they have a .643 winning percentage on the road. The model acknowledges the Chargers’ struggles at home and sees this Week 2 matchup as a tightly contested battle throughout.
