The Board is asking the community to help with naming nine other trees
CUERO, Texas – On Friday, Nov. 5, at 10 a.m., the Cuero Tree Board unveiled their sixth named tree. The unveiling is a part of what has been a unique campaign to name and dedicate all the historic trees in the streets of Cuero.
The sixth tree is located on Frobese Street, across from the golf course, between Main Street and the railroad tracks. The Board chose the name of the tree, which they revealed at the special ceremony. The sixth tree is not located in the street like previous ones. However, it is one that the Board members identified as historic and felt needed to be cared for.
Special signs were placed on poles on both sides of the tree. The public was invited to this ceremony. The Tree Board also continues to call on the public to help name the other nine historic street trees scattered throughout the City.
The tree has been dedicated to Cuero resident Pat Elder who over the past three years took action to make sure the tree was able to survive
and thrive.
You can find more information on those nine trees on the City of Cuero’s website.
