A driver was caught on video chugging away at a bottle of wine moments before she allegedly caused a three-vehicle crash in Australia.
The female motorist was recorded in the driver’s seat of a silver car in Bundall, Gold Coast, as she guzzled what appeared to be a bottle of red wine at 4.20 pm on Tuesday (February 16).
Sam Mangan, who filmed the clip, said: “She actually pulled out a full bottle of wine, sat back, and drank the entire bottle in one go. It was unbelievable.”
Not long after he took the video, the woman was allegedly involved in a three-car pile-up and returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.276 – five times the legal limit, Mirror reports.
Following the crash, the 49-year-old woman reportedly had her keys taken from her by another driver while Queensland Police were called.
It is believed nobody was seriously harmed in the incident.
Sam uploaded the clip he filmed to Instagram out of horror at the woman’s dangerous actions.
He told news.com.au he had received mixed feedback, with some saying he shouldn’t have filmed her “without knowing any history” for her actions.
Sam hit back and said it was “everyone’s business” when it comes to stopping people driving while over the limit.

One social media user said: “You posted without knowing any history – agreed she should not be drunk driving, but you know nothing of what that woman has gone through that day.”
Sam responded saying: “If you’re going to drink enough to allegedly be five-and-a-half times the legal limit and get behind the wheel of a car it becomes anyone’s business that’s going to stop you.
“If you’re stupid enough to drink-drive, you deserve to be caught.”
He added he was “glad this all ended with no one getting hurt”.
