According to The Detroit News, Pew Research Center conducted a poll and the results have claimed that number of Americans considering Russia as ‘enemy’ have fallen to 50 per cent. The number was significantly higher at 61 per cent in April 2024, and 70 per cent in March 2022.
Among the respondents, nine per cent considered Russia as the partner of the US and 34 per cent as competitor.
The survey was conducted among 3,605 between March 24 and March 30. Notably, a phone call between US President Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin took place just before the survey.
President Trump has been making efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine war.
Recently, Russia and the United States have started talks on joint rare earth metals and other projects in Russia, and some companies have already expressed an interest in them, President Vladimir Putin’s investment envoy said in remarks.Putin in February suggested that the United States might be interested in exploring joint exploration for rare earth metals deposits in Russia, which has the world’s fifth-largest reserves of the metals used in lasers and military equipment.
