AN eyebrow artist has revealed a clever way to disguise patches and an affordable oil that will promote growth.
She shared several beauty habits that should be embraced for enviably fluffy and full brows.
Shavata Singh is a UK-based brow and lash artist, with over 30 years of experience offering treatments such as threading, tinting, and lash extensions.
Speaking to The U.S. Sun, she revealed must-try tricks to prevent walking around with patchy brows.
HAIR WE GO
Singh said eyebrow hairs can stop growing if they are consistently over-plucked.
However, cosmetics treatments aren’t the only factors to consider when brows start to thin.
She said genetics, hormonal imbalances, aging, nutritional deficiencies, and certain health conditions can also affect eyebrow hair growth.
“If hair refuses to grow in a certain area of the brow, then pencils, pomades, or tints can disguise this temporarily,” she said.
“Microblading is considered to be the best form of camouflage for patchy brows, with artificial brow strokes seamlessly integrating into real brow hair.
“It is also worth considering talking to a medical practitioner in case there are any underlying health issues that you might be able to address through medication or lifestyle changes.”

“Natural remedies to stimulate eyebrow hair growth include castor oil, which is rich in nutrients and may promote hair growth when applied regularly to the eyebrows,” Singh said.
“Additionally, incorporating a balanced diet rich in vitamins and minerals essential for hair health, such as vitamin E, biotin, and omega-3 fatty acids, can help.
“Foods rich in these nutrients include eggs, salmon, avocados, nuts, leafy greens, and fruits like berries and citrus.”
Castor oil for brows and lashes is available for $9.99 at Walmart.
One customer said their brows became thick within a “few weeks” of consistent use, while another said the oil “works like magic.”
On average, it takes about 6 to 8 weeks for eyebrow hair to fully regrow after it has been removed or lost.

Singh said over-the-counter serums can be effective for nourishing hair follicles and promoting growth.
She recommended looking out for ingredient lists that include biotin, peptides, and botanical extracts.
“Prescription options such as bimatoprost, originally developed for eyelash growth, have also demonstrated effectiveness in stimulating eyebrow hair growth when used under medical supervision,” she said.
Is castor oil safe to use?
Castor oil is made from seeds of the ricinus communis plant.
It is believed to have anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and moisturizing properties.
Uses include:
- Oral laxative
- Hair growth
- Inducing labor
- Treating dandruff
Despite having been considered a safe natural remedy for many years, there is a lack of scientific studies proving that it can regrow hair according to Healthline.
BEAUTIFUL BROWS
Genetics, age, and overall health can impact the time it takes for eyebrow hair to regrow according to Singh.
“On average, it takes about 6 to 8 weeks for eyebrow hair to fully regrow after it has been removed or lost,” she said.
“However, this timeline can vary, with some people experiencing faster regrowth while others may take longer.
“Consistently practicing good eyebrow care habits, such as avoiding over-plucking and using nourishing products, can help support regrowth.”
