It’s something we’ve all struggled with when we try and get healthier and work out more.
Even when you’re determined to make it to the gym, whether that’s weekly or every day, it can be a struggle to find the motivation to stand up, get your kit on and do your exercise routine.
Especially at the end of a long work day or when you’ve got kids.
In a recent Instagram post, fitness influencer Anna Victoria, who has 1.1million loyal fans, revealed that this is one of the questions she’s asked the most.
How do you find the energy and motivation to exercise?
And, the stunning blonde offered up her advice to gym wannabes who are keen to get fit.
Anna said: “I recently got asked how you get the energy to work out.
“This is probably one of the hardest things about getting started because the energy comes after you begin working out.
“Until then, you have to trust the process and push through even if you don’t feel like it. If I waited until the days I ‘felt like it’ then I wouldn’t be working out all too often.
“It’s a conscious choice for me because I know how much more energy I’ll have after, how much better I’ll feel, and how much stronger I’ll get.
“Which is very needed these days since Aurora isn’t wanting to be put down much these days”
Aurora is Anna’s daughter.
The fitness trainer continued: “You don’t regret working out. You only regret skipping it.
“Remember, commitment means sticking to what you said you would do long after the mood you said it in has left you!”
Other tips to boost your motivation include following the 3 x 10 rule.
This is where you take a ten minute walk three times a day to make up your 30 minutes of daily exercise without feeling like you have to go to the gym or do a class.
If you throw in some squats, lunches and push ups later that evening you’ve done a gentle full body workout throughout the day.
Plus, try carrying a spare gym kit in your car.
That way, if the mood strikes you to head to a spin class or do some yoga you can get changed and head off before you lose the desire to do so.
In the end, it’s all about determination, commitment and remembering that it will be worth it in the long run.
