The founder of an online fashion firm who first started working in Burger King is in line to earn an eye-watering £35million.
Adam Frisby, 33, left school without any qualifications before setting up a business in his bedroom using just £1,000.
Now eight years after he founded In The Style, the company is set to float on the stock market with a price tag of £105million.
He owns more than a third of the business and is expected to net £12million from selling some of his stake.
That means he’ll be left with a holding worth £23million at the start of trading.
Documents also show Adam will get an annual salary of £198,000 as chief executive, plus he could be in line for an “uncapped bonus”.
With celebrity inspired clothes, the Manchester-based firm featured in a BBC Documentary called “Breaking Fashion”.
Adam was born and grew up in Great Yarmouth before his family moved to Spain during his teens.
He returned to the UK to live with a friend in Cambridge at the age of 16 where he took a job at Burger King to help make ends meet.
According to Manchester Evening News, Adam quit work to look after his brother Peter who lost his sight in a serious car accident.
He said: “He was in hospital for six months and we didn’t have any parents around so I came together with my sister to support him.”
Adam later returned to Manchester to work for a disability charity but was made redundant.
He added: “I had always wanted to do something for myself but didn’t know what it was.”
In 2013, he spotted a gap in the market for celebrity-designed womenswear and in August that year, he began his business.
After buying six dresses from a wholesaler, Adam sold them at three times the price via social media.
He managed to convince The Only Way Is Essex’s Lauren Pope to work on a range with him.
Adam said: “She had a lot of businesses making offers to her at the time but she told me she liked my vision.”
