The release of Animal, starring actor Ranbir Kapoor, sparked significant uproar across social media platforms upon its release. Reviews for the film were sharply divided among both the general public and celebrities alike. While some critics criticised the movie, others commended Sandeep Reddy Vanga‘s direction.
Animal faced accusations of glorifying toxic masculinity, excessive violence, and misogyny towards women. Despite being in cinemas for four months, discussions surrounding the film persist. Vikas Divyakirti, an educator and civil servant who portrayed himself in the Vikrant Massey-led 12th Fail, recently shared his perspective on Animal.

He Also Reacted To A Scene Where Ranbir Kapoor Asks Triptii Dimri To Lick His Shoes
In response to a controversial scene in the movie Animal, where Ranbir Kapoor’s character asks Triptii Dimri’s character to lick his shoe as a test of love, Vikas expressed concern about the potential impact of such scenes, questioning what if immature boys with a feudal mindset might emulate such behaviour to test their girlfriends’ affection in real life. He lamented the creation of films that propagate such crude and thoughtless scenarios, highlighting the dual nature of societal influences.
The actor remarked, “After watching the film, what if some boys who are of a feudal mindset and are not that mature want to test their girlfriend’s love by asking them to lick their shoe, what then? Itni fuhad aur badtameez film hum bana rahein hai then it is very sad (It is sad when we make such careless and mean-spirited films) but both kinds of forces are always there in the world.)”
Despite facing controversy and criticism, the film Animal achieved remarkable success at the box office, breaking multiple records. Its global earnings reached a staggering Rs 900 crore. Additionally, the film received praise at various award ceremonies. Notable actors such as Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor played significant roles in this film.
