Filmmaker Karan Johar graced the national capital to participate in the All India Management Association’s ninth National Leadership Conclave. Today, in New Delhi, the esteemed Vice-President, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, bestowed upon him the coveted 14th AIMA Managing India Awards.
Johar was honoured with the prestigious ‘Director of the Year’ award for his outstanding contribution to the cinematic landscape with his 2023 film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.

Donning a sleek formal attire comprising a black jacket and trouser, paired with a crisp white shirt and tie, Johar commanded attention as he stood on the stage. Alongside India’s Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, he graciously accepted his accolade at the illustrious event.

Karan Johar Recalls Directing Amitabh Bachchan In K3G
Karan Johar also reminisced about his experience directing Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan for the first time in his blockbuster film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. Johar revealed that he was so overwhelmed that he fainted a day before directing Bachchan, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to step into the director’s chair and provide instructions to the veteran actor.
Johar, who has delivered several hits like Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna and My Name is Khan, as well as the recent success Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, emphasised his philosophy of not dwelling on past successes. He stated that one should be able to handle both failure and success with equanimity, defining success not just in monetary terms but in personal fulfilment and inner happiness. Johar asserted that while he acknowledges and learns from failure, he swiftly moves on from success, believing that resting on one’s appreciation is a waste of time.
