According to Michael Furrh, Lavaca County EMS Director, 60 to 70 patients transported to hospitals this week have COVID-19.
HALLETTSVILLE, Texas – On Thursday, August 19, Lavaca County provided a COVID-19 case update via Facebook.
While at least sixty percent of patients are testing positive for COVID-19, many residents are currently living in Yoakum, Hallettsville, and Victoria.
The county’s current EMS examination process is to review the patient’s symptoms then checking for high fever, cough, or shortness of breath.
After examining the patient, if the person qualifies for standard and release then he or she would have to remain quarantined at home.
If needed, EMS will help assist the patient to help them get into contact with their primary physician.
