At the latest Conservative party leadership hustings in Cheltenham, Liz Truss vowed to cut taxes and ‘unleash the full potential of Brexit’ if she is made prime minister.
But Truss’s leadership rival, Rishi Sunak, criticised her approach and said he is not willing to ‘pursue policies that risk making inflation far worse and last far longer’, though he did also lay out plans for tax cuts if he becomes PM.
