It has taken the total number of charges the 47-year-old faces to 29.
The Crown Prosecution Service said it had authorised Hertfordshire Police to charge the Metropolitan Police officer with nine additional offences on Monday.
They are six counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, one count of assault by penetration and one count of coercive or controlling behaviour.
The charges relate to allegations involving four women between 2009 and 2018.
Carrick will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday morning in relation to the new charges.
The new charges come in addition to accusations already made against Carrick involving four separate women.
In total, he has been charged with 29 offences which includes 13 counts of rape.
