MADISON (WXOW) — On Saturday, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services said that the number of people who have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine is more than 2.13 million.
Numbers from DHS show 2,133,220 people in the state have received at least one dose of the vaccine. That translates to 36.6 percent of state residents according to DHS. The figures show that 1,386,707 people, or 23.8 percent of the state’s population, are now fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
In Western Wisconsin to date, 105,590 people have received at least one dose of the vaccine. It equates to 38.5 percent of the total number of people in Western Wisconsin. 71,374, or 26 percent, have completed the vaccine series.
The DHS figures show that 50,818 people or 43.1 percent of residents of La Crosse County have had at least one dose of the vaccine. 32,510 people in La Crosse County or 27.5 percent completed the vaccine series according to the state.
In other counties, these are the percentages for the population receiving the first dose of a COVID vaccine: Monroe: 29.5 percent, Vernon: 36.1 percent, Trempealeau: 40.9 percent, and Jackson: 32.1 percent.

According to numbers from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services on Saturday, there were four additional deaths from the virus.
The total number of deaths in the state from the virus is now at 6,676.

DHS also reported 60 people were newly hospitalized.
As of Friday, 290 COVID-19 patients were being treated in Wisconsin hospitals, an increase of six from the day before.
Of those, 74 people are in the ICU according to the Wisconsin Hospital Association. That’s down six from the previous day.
There have been 804 positive COVID-19 tests since yesterday in Wisconsin and 3,610 negative results.

Of all positive cases reported since the pandemic began, 569,194, or 97.4 percent, are considered recovered.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services said that twelve people are hospitalized in the Western Region of the state, which is comprised of Buffalo, Trempealeau, Jackson, La Crosse, Monroe, Vernon, and Crawford counties. It is an increase of two from the day before. Two patients are currently in intensive care.
