The Gold Coast Titans have made a huge decision on the playing futures of million-dollar duo Ash Taylor and Tyrone Peachey.
The Gold Coast Titans have confirmed Ash Taylor and Tyrone Peachey’s time at the club has come to an end.
Both men, who were on big money contracts, will now test the waters of free agency ahead of the 2022 NRL season.

Taylor was reportedly earning $AUD1m a season, while Peachey inked a deal with the Titans in 2019 worth $1.5m across three years.
Taylor’s exit represents a sad end to his time at the club after a highly promising start.
The playmaker linked up with the Gold Coast in 2016 after playing just the one game for the Brisbane Broncos, and went on to make over 100 appearances across six seasons.
Such was Taylor’s form in 2016, he earned a call-up to the Indigenous All Stars in 2017 and also a three-year contract extension in October 2017 that made him a million-dollar player.
However, after signing his monster deal, Taylor never seemed to recapture the form that earned him his seven-figure contract and endured a tumultuous 2021 season that ultimately led Titans coach Justin Holbrook to drop him from the starting line-up.
Taylor had been replaced by young gun Toby Sexton towards the back end of the season, before Tyrone Peachey eventually took over the five-eighth role for the remainder of 2021.
Peachey linked up with the Titans in 2019 only a year after he played in all three games of the NSW Blues’ 2018 Origin series.
However, the 28-year-old struggled to recapture that same form, as the Titans finished with the wooden spoon in his first year with the club.
Peachey would play a pivotal utility role for the Titans in 2021, appearing in a number of different positions as he helped the club to its first finals appearance since 2016.
The Titans also confirmed the release of Mitch Rein, Jai Whitbread and Jonus Pearson.
