New South Wales paramedics are facing a high-pressure summer as a rapid increase in non-emergency calls swamp the NSW ambulance service.
NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard is asking residents to only contact paramedics if they are facing a serious issue.
“Dr Chant would tell you, and all other doctors would tell you if you’re having some sort of serious issue, you’ve got chest pain or something, call an ambulance,” Mr Hazzard said.
“If you need a Band-Aid, don’t call an ambulance.”
