Tiger Shroff may find himself in troubled waters as his string of box office disappointments might cast a shadow over his career. His much-anticipated desi adaptation of Rambo seems to have hit a snag after lingering in uncertainty for seven years. Fresh reports reveal that Siddharth Anand and Tiger Shroff’s ambitious Rambo remake has been put on hold temporarily.
This setback adds to the series of challenges faced by the project since its official announcement in 2017. Originally slated to be directed by Siddharth Anand himself, the film saw a change in leadership with Desi Boyz director Rohit Dhawan taking the helm, while Siddharth transitioned to a producer role. The film has struggled to gain traction for various reasons.
The Rambo project garnered attention once again last year when Janhvi Kapoor was roped in to star alongside Tiger. Initial preparations resumed, with plans to kickstart filming in January, which was later pushed to April. However, as April draws to a close, there’s been no progress, raising doubts about the future of the project.
Rambo Put On Hold Due To Tiger Shroff’s LOW Box Office Appeal?
While the exact reasons behind the halt remain unclear, sources close to the development attribute it to budget constraints and Tiger’s dwindling box office appeal. Tiger’s recent films – Baaghi 3, Heropanti 2, and Ganapath – have all struggled at the box office, making investors hesitant to pour hefty sums into the ambitious Rambo project,” sources revealed to PeepingMoon. The underperformance of Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan further increases the concerns.
The cancellation of Rambo marks another downfall for Tiger, whose film Hero No. 1, directed by Jagan Shakti, was shelved earlier this year.
Tiger Shroff’s Professional Front
As the actor’s two projects are on hold, Tiger’s calendar appears sparse, with only Sajid Nadiadwala’s Baaghi 4 in the pipeline, currently in the developmental phase.
Additionally, he is set to make a cameo appearance in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, slated for release during the Diwali weekend. Discussions are also underway for a potential two-hero action comedy with Dharma Productions, although it remains in the nascent stages of development.
What do you think will be the fate of the desi adaption of Rambo? Will it see the light of the day or will it be shelved? Only time will tell!
