Kareena Kapoor On The Success Of Crew
In her latest film Crew, directed by Rajesh A Krishnan, Kareena Kapoor starred alongside Tabu, and Kriti Sanon, and with special appearances by Diljit Dosanjh and Kapil Sharma.
The movie garnered significant success at the box office, prompting Kapoor to reflect on its impact. She expressed happiness over challenging traditional box-office norms, stressing the importance of performance over gender in driving film success.
“It’s not about whether it’s a hero or a heroine leading a film. It’s about the performance and the content that drives it forward. We will continue to strive for that. I always opt for roles that are intriguing yet entertaining. I’m thrilled that Crew has shattered barriers, sparking conversations about women breaking box-office records,” she conveyed in an interview with PTI.
Kareena Kapoor, who played the role of Jasmine Kohli in Crew, revealed that the film has grossed over Rs 150 crore, serving as evidence that gender bias is diminishing in the industry.
Kareena Kapoor’s Upcoming Project
Kareena Kapoor’s next project is the highly anticipated film Singham Again, directed by Rohit Shetty. Co-starring with her are Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, and Tiger Shroff, among others. The movie is set to hit theaters on August 15, 2024.
Initially, Kareena was slated to make her debut in the South Indian film industry with the role of Yash’s sister in Geetu Mohandas’ Toxic. However, she had to withdraw from the project due to scheduling conflicts. Currently, Nayanthara and Kriti Sanon are being considered to replace her in the film.
