Legislative Changes and Technological Innovations
In response to these disasters, there have been efforts to tighten regulations surrounding oil drilling and transportation. The Oil Pollution Act of 1990 was established to improve the government’s ability to respond to oil spills, but calls for further reforms continue. The Need for Change
