A dog who refuses to go for walks in the rain and enjoys stays in five-star hotels has been dubbed the UK’s most pampered pooch.
Louis’ owners Charlotte Thomson and Joey Auger spent £50,000 on a three-month trip around Europe for their miniature dachshund.
The “sensitive little soul” was so distressed by his owners’ new Porsche Cayenne that they were forced to ditch it after the first day.
Charlotte and Joey even lost £5,000 by reselling the car and then spending another £30,000 on a quieter Mercedes E Class.
When Louis joined their romantic getaway, he “didn’t like sharing five-star hotels”, so the couple spent £50,000 on 15-bed villas.
Even walking in the rain has become a problem for the pooch as he refuses to go out when it’s wet.
Charlotte, 33, from Portreath, Cornwall, said: “Louis is a proper little diva dog.
“He’s a sensitive little soul, he gets upset easily, but he knows I’ll always protect him and look after him, we’ve just got that bond.
“Joey knows in the pecking order he’s underneath Louis, he knows his place.”
Charlotte described having to find a new car to go on holiday in two weeks later as “an absolute nightmare.”
She and Joey, 41, who both rent out holiday homes for a living, booked into a couple of luxury hotels at the start of their Eurotrip.
They soon discovered “diva” Louis barked at people walking past their room and “didn’t like sharing” communal areas.
Eventually the couple opted for self-catered accommodation with air con and a swimming pool to keep the pint-sized pooch cool.
But as they booked last minute, the pair forked out on premium costs, paying £50,000 on 15-bed villas costing £3,000 a week.
Despite splashing out on their three-month trip, Charlotte insists they’re not “flash” and afforded it by renting out their home.
She said: “It cost us an absolute fortune because we realised after the first couple of hotels that he didn’t like sharing the hotel.
“Every time someone walked past the room he’d bark or if we were in the communal areas.
“We had to resort to getting villas with swimming pools because we had to dunk him every time it got hot.”
But their trip was pretty awesome, they soaked up the sights in Paris, Monaco and St Tropez before crossing the border to Italy.
There they visited places including Pisa, Florence and Rome before heading to Sicily – all with little Louis by their side.
Charlotte said: “We took Louis because I couldn’t cope being without him.
“Joey suggested we go on holiday just the two of us – he said it would be romantic and we could do this, do that – and I was like ‘no’.
“Everywhere we went he came too, we didn’t leave him once.”
The little dog was always dressed for the occasion too, regularly sporting jazzy bandanas and sparkly collars.

Charlotte also has three chihuahuas called Coco, Barney and Chanel, and she admits they only planned to holiday for two months.
But the couple later decided to add another month to relax in Sicily before heading back home.
She added: “It was a holiday of a lifetime, we made so many amazing memories.
“The chihuahuas are more like cats, they just love being fed, running round the garden, doing their business and then sleeping.
“They’re amazing and we love them to pieces, they’re our family but with Louis he looks at you like he’s almost human.
“Louis and I are just best friends. He’s my little buddy, my little sidekick, he comes everywhere with me.”
