In 2021, a lot of celebrities are having old tweets come back to haunt them.
Just last week, Chrissy Teigen made a public apology after she was branded a ‘bully’ when some of her old tweets to Lindsey Lohan and Courtney Stodden resurfaced.
This week, soccer star Megan Rapinoe has also been ‘cancelled’ and accused of ‘racism’ over a tweet she sent to Natasha Kai in 2011.
Now, Tyler, The Creator has apologised to Selena Gomez, but why? Here’s what he tweeted about her over a decade ago.
Tyler, The Creator made derogatory tweets about Selena Gomez in 2010 and 2011
Back in 2010 and 2011, Tyler, The Creator, who had just released his debut solo mixtape, tweeted some disgusting things about Selena Gomez.
The tweets have now been deleted, but screenshots of them still remain on Twitter, and they are very sexual in nature.
One of the tweets read: “Selena Gomez, I am going to f*** the s*** out of you.”
Another one said: “I want to f*** Selena Gomez in her mouth.”

Now he’s apologised in his new track ‘Manifesto’
Over a decade later, Tyler, The Creator, has apologised to Selena on his new track Manifesto.
In the lyrics, he says:
I was a teener, tweetin’ Selena crazy s***
Didn’t wanna offend her, apologise when I seen her
The lyrics suggest that Tyler, The Creator has previously apologised to Selena in real life.
At the time of writing this, Selena has not publicly responded to the apology.

Twitter reacts to Tyler, The Creator’s apology
Fans have been taking to Twitter to react to Tyler, The Creator’s apology, and it’s safe to say he definitely hasn’t been forgiven.
One person wrote: “Nah this isn’t an apology at all… he just want attention.”
“He was 20 when he said that, this is disgusting. He wasn’t a kid that said some stupid things, he was a adult,” said another.
A third person added: “Lmfao he shouldn’t have apologized.”
