Many Virgin Media users have reported that they are having issues with their television channels but what does ‘code v53’ mean?
The issues have been first reported on Thursday, December 2nd and the company said that they are “working hard to resolve” the problem as soon as possible.
What does ‘Virgin Media code v53’ mean?
Many users have reported that they are seeing the error message of code V53, followed by a message that says “this channel is currently unavailable”.
On its website, Virgin Media explains that this could be related to an issue or planned work in the local area.
“We are aware of an issue currently affecting TV services and are working hard to resolve this as quickly as possible,” Virgin Media wrote in a Twitter post.
Users have first reported the issue at 10.30 am this morning in London, Birmingham and Manchester, followed by thousands of tweets from customers.
The hashtag #virginmedia is in top 10 trending topics on Twitter at the time of writing.

People report issue on social media
Viewers at home continue to report about the issue while Virgin Media is trying to resolve their services.
One person tweeted: “Has anyone else’s Virgin media went down? Mine’s has just stopped working, no channels, Internet or any other service?”
“I now seem to have lost all my channels, @virginmedia,” someone else wrote.
Meanwhile, someone has just tweeted: “Virgin media is going back to normal but not fully restored. This is one of my friends took a picture a few minutes ago.”
