A woman who struggled with pain during sex has revealed that she fixed the problem by going to a special sex camp.
Fran Bushe explained that she had found sex uncomfortable since losing her virginity to a boy at 16.
But, at the time she thought this was normal, but she also struggled to manage penetration and found it hard to orgasm.
Fran, author of the book My Broken Vagina, said her vulva felt like a “brick wall” every time she tried to have sex.
She worried her intimate area was “broken” or that her vagina “didn’t exist”.
But when the young woman raised her concerns with doctors, she found herself brushed off.
They reportedly told her to try loosening up with alcohol or have more sex.
Resigned to her situation, Fran claims that she faked many orgasms and tried to research how to fix the issue herself.
That’s where she discovered the sex camp known as the Conscious Sexuality Festival.
The camp hosts 150 people and includes workshops which Fran read were “designed to reconnect me to my body and sexual ‘juices’.”
And, Fran claims the camp cured her of her painful sex problem.
She signed up for a number of classes including a hugging workshop, a guide to orgasm and an energetic sex class.
Fran also noted that penetration was banned meaning that you could touch others but never have full sex.
And, experienced people at the camp advised her to try the Love Lounge first of all…
Fran told Fabulous: “Wafts of incense and soothing music emanated from a small, fluttering flap in a medium-size tent.
“I braced myself, took a run-up, slipped my shoes off at the flap — and slid into a sea of writhing bodies and soft moans.
“I then pottered about at the edge for a while, before a hand pulled me in…
“The lights were low and the pace was slow.
“Someone massaged my head, while another ran fingers down my back and a third nibbled on my knees.
“I loved it. There seemed a chance I had briefly joined a cult . . . but if it was a cult, it really was a great cult.”

Fran claimed that she relaxed with penetrative sex being off the table and that this caused her to realise she had been prioritising her sexual partners rather than herself.
She quickly learned that she could get great pleasure from other types of stimulation.
Fran added: “There should be enough support and compassionate advice out there — no doctor should be telling anyone to just ‘have a glass of wine to loosen up a bit’.
“Sex education should be pleasure-positive and the fact that 75% of people with vaginas orgasm only with clitoral stimulation should be common knowledge.”
