THE Philippines has opened its doors to 52 international observer missions ahead of the national elections, in a move that Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman George Garcia says reflects the country’s commitment to transparency, electoral integrity and international democratic engagement.
In an interview Saturday, Garcia confirmed the arrival of foreign observers from a diverse range of countries, including Papua New Guinea, Thailand, Indonesia, Russia, Taiwan, Armenia and Tajikistan.
