According to a press release, devotees, including those arriving from abroad, can easily locate depots by searching “firewood depot Prayagraj” online, streamlining the process and ensuring a hassle-free experience.
In the press release, RK Chandna, a senior officer posted in Prayagraj, said that a total 16 firewood depots have been set up across the Mahakumbh area. The bonfire wood is available at a price of Rs 600 per quintal. During the Mahakumbh 2025, there is growing demand for firewood due to severe cold. Keeping in mind the requirement of firewood, the Uttar Pradesh Forest Corporation has taken this initiative to provide relief to people from biting cold. The Corporation ensures a consistent supply, the release further added.
Sixteen depots have been established in different areas of the Mahakumbh 2025 to provide bonfire wood. Some of the major depots are in the Sector 16 of Mahakumbh. The Uttar Pradesh Forest Corporation ensures availability of firewood at reasonable rates at all depots. As per the release, devotees can easily locate these depots by searching “firewood depot” online and use mobile navigation to reach the nearest depot effortlessly.
According to the Uttar Pradesh Forest Corporation, approximately 27,000 quintals of wood will be supplied during the Mahakumbh 2025. Firewood will be transported from various depots across the state and sold at the prescribed rate of Rs 600 per quintal. This initiative to facilitate bonfire arrangement via digital platforms by the state government ensures ease of access for devotees and contributes to a smooth and well-organized Mahakumbh experience, the release claimed.
