ECONOMYNEXT – A proposal to give bankable land rights to a company that is building a 100 MegaWatt solar park in Siyambalanduwa is awaiting Treasury observations, Power Minister Kumara Jayakody said.
“It is not a land transfer issue,” Minister Jayakody told parliament on January 09, in answer to a query whether a land transfer problem was delaying the project.
“They have asked that land be transferred to them so that they can be kept as a security to banks.
“We have put a cabinet paper for that. It is awaiting Treasury observations.”
Minister Jayakody said he did not expect a problem in implementing the project after the observations came. (Colombo/Jan14/2025)
