U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday escalated his attacks on New York City Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani, warning that he would order Mamdani’s arrest if he blocks federal immigration officials from detaining undocumented immigrants. Doubling down, Trump labelled Mamdani a “communist” and threatened to cut off federal funding to the city if the primary winner defies federal deportation efforts.
