FORMER president Rodrigo Duterte is facing significant legal hurdles as he stands trial for alleged crimes against humanity at the International Criminal Court (ICC), with experts deeming interim release highly unlikely.
Kristina Conti, assistant to counsel at the ICC, said the court has stringent criteria for granting interim release, making it difficult for Duterte to secure temporary freedom while proceedings are ongoing.
