ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka leader Anura Kumara Disanayake (AKD) said both him and Chinese President Xi Jinping are paving the way for a new era of Sri Lanka-China cooperation.
Disanayake’s statement comes after the bilateral meeting with his Chinese counterpart.
“Honored to be warmly welcomed by President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People,” Disanayake said in his X social media platform.
“Together, we’re paving the way for a new era of Sri Lanka-China cooperation. Proud to sign key MoUs to strengthen economic, social, and industrial ties.”
Sri Lanka signed 15 memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with China. Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath said they were related to economy, education, media, and culture. (Colombo/January 15/2025)
