A Mumbai court has granted bail to Shiv Sena leader Rahul Kanal and 11 others who were arrested in connection with vandalising a studio, where comedian Kunal Kamra made a joke on Maharashtra deputy CM Eknath Shinde.
The accused were taken into custody after an FIR was registered against 20 individuals, including Kanal, for their alleged involvement in the incident.
According to Mumbai Police sources, 12 Shiv Sena workers were arrested so far, while the search for the remaining eight accused is ongoing.
Meanwhile, stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra, who has also been booked, has not yet been contacted by the police. “We are yet to approach Kunal Kamra. We haven’t contacted him yet,” sources said.
